Eco-Age was commissioned by C40 (a network of the world’s megacities committed to addressing climate change) to design, write and produce a book which tells the stories of how the mayors of six of the world’s leading cities are working together, under the auspices of C40, to address climate change to help create a sustainable future for all. The book was produced in-house at Eco-Age, in close collaboration with C40 for the sixth biennial C40 Mayors Summit in Mexico City in December 2016.

The aim of this work is to raise the profile of mayors who are successfully considering social equity and climate action in an integrated way to inspire other cities and show other mayors how to make the case for and deliver inclusive climate action.

C40 connects more than 85 of the world’s greatest cities, representing 650+ million people and one quarter of the global economy. Created and led by cities, C40 is focused on tackling climate change and driving urban action that reduces greenhouse gas emissions and climate risks, while increasing the health, wellbeing and economic opportunities of urban citizens.

Eco-Age has created a unique and sustainably produced book, printed on FSC certified paper, which is also recyclable. Its bold, arresting graphics and engaging copy bring out the human stories – and the passion for change – that are energised by the C40 project. We also created comprehensive, supporting digital content and a global strategy for social media.

This book supports a powerful short film, created for the conference by Andrew Morgan, which can be seen below.
