Livia Firth celebrates the achievements of the British fashion industry in a gown made by Roksanda Ilincic for the GCC
It’s been a really busy couple of weeks for the GCC. First up was the inspiring launch of the Circle for Oxfam Italia with the wonderful Annie Lennox, and at the weekend Colin and I celebrated the raw talent of the British theatre industry at the Evening Standard Awards. And this week, I went to one of the highlights of the fashion calandar – The British Fashion Awards 2012! It’s always an incredible evening spent mingling with the stars of British fashion, but this year was particularly special as three of the wonderful designers who took part in The Green Cut won awards. Jonathan Saunders, Stella McCartney and Roksanda Ilincic all walked away with gongs, which was an amazing and well deserved recognition of all their hard work. Take a look through my picture diary of the night to see all the glamour, glitz and talent of the British Fashion Awards 2012.
Roksanda made this beautiful colbalt gown for me out of end of the line and discarded material. It’s so simple, yet so elegant. No wonder she won the Red Carpet Award this year.
