A lavish evening to celebrate the Green Cut with American Express and the British Film Institute.
One friday night in October, 2012, Livia Firth, Lucy Siegle and Lisa Gregg from American Express hosted a lavish gala to celebrate the wonderful Green Cut dresses and to premiere the Green Cut film, directed by Lucy Siegle. Held in the extraordinary setting of One Mayfair, guests were greeted to an enormous tree rising up through the bar, and an incredible canopy of golden autumnal leaves. Throughout the night guests were treated to flowing champagne and delicious dishes of ravioli and oysters.
Touring round the incredible space, guests could get up close to these ground-breaking gowns; they could see the detail of the incredible GOTS certified lace used in the Stella McCartney gown inspired by the film Accident, or the luscious train featured in Antonio Berardi’s creation inspired by Evergreen, or the astounding beading of the Tom Ford dress.
Premiering the Green Cut film, Livia and Lucy fielded questions and spoke about the nine wonderful designers that used the Green Cut criteria to interpret the eight iconic British films that were at the root of the dresses’ inspiration.
