Eco-Age devised and launched The Green Carpet Fashion Awards (GCFA) in Milan in 2017 in collaboration with Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana (CNMI). Dubbed the ‘Oscars of Fashion’, the GCFAs are one of the world’s foremost sustainability and fashion awards, adding glamour and celebrity to sustainability issues in a true Oscars ceremony style. Held every year at La Scala theatre in Milan, they are the only awards ceremony to honour both the handprint of fashion (the human capital that goes into the making of fashion), as well as to acknowledge the footprint (the natural capital and environmental impact) of fashion at this level.

They are about progress and future, visionaries and game changers and ultimately solutions for a more just fashion industry. In 2019, the GCFAs generated coverage of over 5.5 billion and attracted the biggest global audience during Milan Fashion Week.
