Reformation wanted to understand how its sustainability strategy aligns with its peers and to identify opportunities for improvement, with the aim to maintain its position as a global leader in sustainability in fashion and a force for good for society and the environment.
In 2019, Eco Age and Reformation partnered to assess the sustainability performance
of eleven brands communicated as leaders in sustainability in fashion.
The assessment created by Eco Age scored brands based on their performance across twelve topics, which were selected by analysing commonly addressed issues within existing industry frameworks, such as B Corp, the Global Reporting Initiative and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Reformation published its score, including a breakdown per topic, in its annual reports, highlighting key areas for improvement and the steps it would take to address these in the subsequent year. Eco Age re-assessed Reformation against the framework in 2020 and 202. Eco Age also reviewed the benchmark each year, strengthening it to reflect the key industry movements and ever-changing sustainability landscape.
