The Commonwealth Fashion Exchange

The Commonwealth Fashion Exchange showcased a wealth of design and artisan fashion talent across its 53 countries.

The project launched by Commonwealth Secretary General the Rt Hon Patricia Scotland and Livia Firth, founder of sustainability consultancy Eco-Age, is a major new initiative that promotes new networks, trade links and lasting sustainable supply chains. The project was developed in partnership with Swarovski, The Woolmark Company and MATCHESFASHION.COM.

“The handwork economy is still one of the greatest, most untold stories”

The Commonwealth is a most amazingly diverse family of 53 independent countries. It is home to 2.4 billion people, and 60% of them are under the age of 30.

“This project confirmed something I have always believed; that collaboration must be encouraged and engaged.”
