Dr Phillipa Coan

As a Psychologist, Phillipa puts people at the heart of an organisation’s environmental strategy. Phillipa is an expert in changing behaviour and works alongside key stakeholders, decision makers and employees to build the right corporate culture to meet sustainability objectives. Her doctoral research, for which she has won local and national awards, investigated how to accelerate environmental behaviour change by causing behavioural chain reactions across home and work.  In 2015 she set up STRIDE, a consultancy that combines best practice psychology with the more technical, data-driven aspects of energy management and broader environmental sustainability. Phillipa is also an accredited executive coach working with both 1:1 clients and teams, helping improve their collective capacity to deliver. She has worked across sectors and industries including oil and gas, manufacturing, retail, engineering, healthcare, higher education and financial services. Phillipa is also a Visiting Research Fellow at Leeds University Business School and a chartered member of the British Psychological Society’s Division of Occupational Psychology.
