Case study

Natural Diamond Council

Eco-Age started to work with The Diamond Producers Association (DPA) in 2018, as they needed an agency to effectively create and communicate an external narrative to consumers, the trade and the media from the results of DPA’s TruCost report, highlighting the role and contribution of diamond producers to society.

Eco-Age was picked as the partner given our unique blend of creativity and ability to lead the charge to shape a complete advocacy campaign and change negative perceptions by consumers and the media about the diamond industry.
As part of the re-launch of The Natural Diamond Council (NDC), Eco-Age was tasked with creating a strategic campaign and visual identity to communicate and promote the sustainability processes and activity of the Council and its members, and to spotlight another side to diamond mining, which includes nurturing communities, education and equality.
Our solution was to develop a complete visual style and colour palette, as well as a defined approach to imagery which was then applied to all types of media and communication including website, social media and PR. Eco-Age worked together with the NDC to create a visually engaging user experience on, allowing visitors to easily see where the member mines operated, and then exploring their sustainability initiatives.
Over the course of three years, Eco-Age has produced nearly 50 written articles, multiple short films, and even overseen the production of events to tell a more accurate story of natural diamonds, all the while maintaining the key visuals and brand identity we helped to create for the client.

Natural Diamond Council – PR

The NDC asked Eco-Age to develop a strategy to position the Natural Diamond Council as the leading industry authority on natural diamond trends, innovation, and governance.
We achieved this by communicating the inherent value and benefits of natural diamonds and the companies supplying them. Reinforcing the positive impact of the natural diamond industry by sharing insights, communicating best practices and promoting ethical, social and environmental standards. Furthermore, ensuring clear and accurate information is told about natural diamonds and the diamond industry.
Our work included hosting a panel with the Natural Diamond Council, “Diamond Transformation, Environmental & Social Impact Across the Diamond Industry” during couture fashion week in Paris, July 2022. With Livia Firth moderating, the event featured diamond and sustainability executives, Watch and Jewelry Initiative 2030 executive director Iris Van der Veken, Kering’s chief sustainability and institutional affairs officer Marie-Claire Daveu, Andre Messika Ltd. diamonds trading company’s chairman André Messika, safety, health and corporate responsibility manager at Lucara Diamonds Botswana Kesego Kereemang, and actress and NDC’s global ambassador Lily James.
