Do-it-yourself beauty recipes are both great for the soul and for the environment. Our selfcare recipes aim to inspire a moment of calm at the end of a busy day; combining plastic-free, natural ingredients and investing some time in yourself to leave you feeling refreshed and rejuvinated. These DIY facial treatments focus on giving back your skin a healthy glow.

Anti-Pollution Face Mask

The best way to tackle pollution skin problems is with anti-oxidants, of which almonds and olive oil are full of. Let the fatty acids and high vitamin content of these two simple ingredients absorb into the skin and leave you looking bright and glowy. Leave on for 10 - 15 minutes post-cleanse, before washing off.

Grapefruit & Lime Lip Scrub

Whether it's the summer heat or the winter cold, our lips can become quickly chapped. This DIY lip scrub is good enough to eat, with all natural ingredients. Simply mix melted coconut oil with all other ingredients and fill a small tub. Use on dry lips before then washing off and moisturising.

DIY Face Serum

Treat your skin with this simple DIY facial serum. Simply fill a glass dropper bottle with the following:

- 2 tbsp jojoba oil
- 1 tbsp rosehip seed oil
- 5 drops lavender essential oil

Avocado & Lemon Face Mask

Give your skin a little pick-me-up ahead of the new week with this easy 3-ingredient face mask.

What you’ll need:

1/2 Avocado
Juice from ½ Lemon
1 tbsp organic cold pressed coconut oil

Simply mash the avocado and mix with the lemon juice and coconut oil until you have a creamy paste that will stick to your skin. Apply to your face and neck, sit back and relax for 10 minutes, and then rinse off with water.

Natural Toothpaste

Here's a quick and easy recipe to last you longer than just Sunday… make your own natural toothpaste (and yes it works). Conventional toothpaste often contains microplastics as well as toxic ingredients such as SLS (sodium lauryl sulfate) which is why making your own is a great alternative.

What you’ll need:

2 tablespoons coconut oil
1/2 tablespoons baking soda
10 drops of food-grade peppermint essential oil
A jar

Simply mix all of it together, fill the paste into your jar and you are ready to brush your teeth with bamboo toothbush.
