By Sophie Parsons

Do-it-yourself beauty recipes are both great for the soul and for the environment. Our selfcare recipes aim to inspire a moment of calm at the end of a busy day; combining plastic-free, natural ingredients and investing some time in yourself to leave you feeling refreshed and rejuvinated. These DIY hair recipes aim to restore your locks back to their natural shine.

Scalp scrubs are a great way to stimulate your hair follicules and work towards healthy and strong feeling hair. The lemon and sea salt exfoliate the scalp, whilst also leaving it smeeling beautifully citrusy. Simply rub into damp hair and massage, before washing out and shampooing and conditioning as usual.

Restorative Avocado Hair Mask

Help your hair recover from the summer sun with this restorative avocado mask. Simply coat the ends of damp, clean hair and leave to soak for 15 minutes before rinsing out.

DIY Rosemary Hair Serum

Dry and frizzy hair from the summer sun calls for a deep conditioning. Why not try make your own serum from enriching argan oil and fragrant essential oils? Rosemary oil is great for encouraging nerve growth and improving circulation, stimulating healthy hair growth and nourished ends.

For this recipe, simply mix together the carrier oils with the lavender and rosemary essential oils and fill a small jar. Use post-shampoo and leave on wet hair for 10- 20 minutes for a deep condition, or rub a couple of drops into towel dried hair once or twice a week for constant nourishment.
