#FollowFriday - Our Favourite Active Citizens on Instagram

By Jil Carrara

Every Friday we share our favourite accounts to follow on Instagram. From poets and activists to ethical influencers and healthy foodies - this is the community of people using their voice for change and #socialmediaforsocialgood.

Paul Nicklen is a Canadian photographer, filmmaker, and marine biologist who has documented the beauty and the plight of our planet for over 20 years.  He is also a co-founder of the non-profit, SeaLegacy, which uses visual storytelling to inspire millions of people to stand up and have a voice for the pristine places threatened by climate change.  Follow for incredible evocative, sensitive and awe-inspiring wildlife photography.

Jameela Jamil is the founder of movement @i_weigh that encourages people to measure themselves by real values not kg. We love!

Lauren from @trashisfortossers became Zero Waste in 2012 and started her blog to document her journey. She has since started two companies in alignment with her values: @packagfreeshop, a zero waste shop in NYC and @thesimplyco which makes an all natural laundry detergent.

Otegha Uwagba is the founder of Women Who - a community for Working Women, the host of In Good Company - a podcast highlighting (really) practical advice from successful women, and bestselling author of ‘Little Black Book - a toolkit for working women’. It’s safe to say she is a fountain of knowledge when it comes to women in business.

We love @cleowade - a poet, artist and inspiring force for change and positivity.
