Slow down, do something just for you. Self care Sunday doesn't need to include hour-long, expensive massages and other therapies (although it definitely can), but following the below easy recipes can leave you feeling relaxed and rejuvenated - ready for the new week. 


Under-eye mask

If you’ve had a pretty busy week and the bags under your eyes aren’t concealable anymore, try this easy, natural and affordable homemade under-eye mask.
What you’ll need:
¼ cup green tea (cooled)
¼  peeled cucumber
1 teaspoon coconut oil and half a lemon.

Blend everything together until smooth. Take some reusable organic cotton or bamboo rounds and soak them in the mixture for a little. Then transfer onto a plate and into the freezer for about 5-10 mins so they become nice and cool. Gently place the cold rounds on your eyes and leave for about 10-15 minutes. 

Coconut Oil & Honey Hair Mask

To try today during your pamper session: a DIY easy (and affordable) hair mask that will leave your hair shiny and nourished. All you need is 1 tablespoon of cold-pressed, organic coconut oil and 1 tablespoon of organic honey. Heat the ingredients in a saucepan on a low heat until they melt together nicely. Apply to hair (except roots), loosely tie into a bun and let it sit for about 20 mins before rinsing. Voilá.

Natural Toothpaste

Here's a quick and easy recipe to last you longer than just Sunday… make your own natural toothpaste (and yes it works). Conventional toothpaste often contains microplastics as well as toxic ingredients such as SLS (sodium lauryl sulfate) which is why making your own is a great alternative. 

What you’ll need:

2 tablespoons coconut oil
1/2 tablespoons baking soda
10 drops of food-grade peppermint essential oil
A jar

Simply mix all of it together, fill the paste into your jar and you are ready to brush your teeth with bamboo toothbush

Coconut Oil and Coffee Body Scrub

Conventional body scrubs often contain microplastics, but there is an easy, natural and cost-effective way to exfoliate. Try making your own body scrub with ground coffee, coarse salt and melted coconut oil. You can store the mixture in a jar and use twice-weekly to remove dead skin cells and boost your blood circulation.

Turmeric Face Mask

This is a super easy two-ingredient natural face mask, which is high in antioxidants and perfect for glowing skin to try out today.

What you’ll need: 
2 tablespoons aloe vera gel 
1 teaspoon turmeric 
Leave it on until it dries (about 10-15mins) and gently wash off.

Lavender Bath Salt

Take a relaxing bath with this easy 3-ingredient bath salt.

What you’ll need:

2 cups Epsom Salt 
1 cup pink himalayan salt 
15 drops lavender essential oil
(optional a handful of rose petals) 

Simply mix everything together and store in a glass jar (ps. this also makes a great homemade Christmas gift)
